Uzma Berhad has unveiled its satellite project with UzmaSAT-1 a state-of-the-art Earth Observation satellite developed through a collaboration between Uzma and Satellogic.
The group said the partnership aims to evolve the landscape of satellite imagery capabilities and geospatial services in Southeast Asia by leveraging access to high-temporal and high-resolution satellite imagery from the largest commercial EO constellation in orbit. It added the UzmaSAT-1 Programme represents a transformative leap towards more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable practices across diverse industries.
The satellite features high-temporal and high-spatial resolution, delivering 50cm multispectral data with top industry-level radiometric values and offering frequent and consistent updates with up to 7 daily revisits. It will integrate with a 42-satellite constellation, providing low latency for rapid response, with the capability to task and access satellite imagery in under 6 hours. With its big data catalyst, UzmaSAT-1 is designed to empower AI and machine learning technologies, transforming spatial analysis with a collection capacity of 350,000 square kilometers.
Uzma added the program aims to deliver accurate insights and analysis in tropical environments through its tropical precision feature, where the satellite data will undergo Malaysia’s atmospheric data calibration process, ensuring high accuracy in these regions.UzmaSAT-1’s high-quality multispectral imagery eliminates the need for pansharpening, ensuring users receive pristine data with superior detail. This will provide accurate and reliable information for informed decision-making and delivers actionable insights to address specific challenges.
Uzma Berhad announced that it had also established MOUsrandums and exchange of a Letter of Interest with key partners, including the Malaysia Space Agency (MYSA), SIRIM, MIMOS Berhad, Lebtech Energy Sdn. Bhd., and Global Farm Biotech Sdn. Bhd. to further advance Malaysia’s geospatial industry.
