Oroquieta City in Misamis Occidental province is the newest recipient of a tax mapping technology of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Caraga State University (CSU) that could help boost its income. Calago was referring to the "MapX," a broad real property mapping and assessment solution that uses advanced geoinformatics technologies. “The improvement of tax mapping operations through MapX is only the first project for Oroquieta City under DOST’s Smart and Sustainable Communities Program," Calago said. MapX will allow Oroquieta City's City Assessor's Office to easily analyze and map real estate units. In addition, it aims to improve tax mapping processes, which can increase RPT collection and boost the city's revenue.
